NewscastMedia -- In less than two years, Obama is likely to face one of these GOP rising stars in a battle for the White House. Ron Paul had a very successful grassroots campaign and raised a lot of money over the Internet, however, I think the media will give him less coverage as they did in 2008, due to his views on the war, the IRS and the Federal Reserve.  I have therefore narrowed the field down to the above-listed candidates.

Mitt Romney the former Massachusetts governor has successfully raised money for fellow Republicans through his Free and Strong America PAC  He is an effective fundraiser and also a staunch critic of the Obama administration especially with issues relating to the economy.

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin formed her political action committee, SarahPAC, and eventually resigned from her governorship in July 2009.  Virtually every candidate she has endorsed has won his or her election. Sarah Palin told Larry King she hasn't ruled out the possibility of running in 2012.

Paul Ryan, the Wisconsin Congressman, introduced his "Roadmap To America's Future Success" in 2008 and released an updated version at the beginning of 2010.  An incredibly astute economist, Ryan publicly challenged Obama's Obamacare at the 2010 Health Care Summit and is known for the quote, "Hiding spending doesn't reduce spending." http://www.newscastmedia.com/risingstars.htm

NewscastMedia -- The Pentagon is embarking on a project that will develop a submarine-like vehicle capable of becoming airborne.  The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), plans to build a military vehicle that can hover over the water until it approaches its target before disappearing under sea to avoid detection. It would then sneak closer in form of a submarine before striking its target, then flying back to its base.

The project has been in development since 2008, and DARPA is now ready to fund it. However, the problem that has to be overcome is, the vehicle has to be both hydro and aerodynamic.  It has to be solid enough to withstand underwater pressure, but also has to be light enough to become airborne.  Several outside developers have submitted their blueprints that are currently under consideration by the Pentagon before funding can be released.

NewscastMedia.com Houston news -- Russian president Dmitry Medvedev sent a letter to Barack Obama coinciding with the July 4th celebrations, in which he assured Obama that, "Our constructive, neighborly relations make it futile to try to downplay the importance of our achievements". The letter is in response to the 11 Russians arrested for alleged spying.

Last week during a meeting with former president Bill Clinton, Russian Prime Minister Vladmir Putin accused U.S. authorities of going out of control. Both countries have been working hard to restore normal relations even though they can't reach a consensus on how to handle the Iran and North Korea nuclear programs.  http://www.newscastmedia.com/medvedev_letter.htm
